A good old spring clean makes your house feel and look great, but having to go to the effort of cleaning it…that’s not so great. If there is ever a way of making your cleaning regime a little easier, we are definitely up for giving it a go. Lucky for us the Household Hacker has released a brand new video teaching us seven useful life hacks to quickly clean your bathroom. There’s no need to buy any fancy products, most of these items you will already have in your cupboards. Lets go!
#1- USE NEWSPAPER AND BLACK TEA TO CLEAN GLASSES AND MIRRORS.
Soak three black teabags in 8 ounces of water. Transfer the mixture to a spray bottle and simply spray a small layer on the mirror or glass and wipe with newspaper.
#2- TACKLE SHOWER SCUM WITH LIQUID SOAP AND VINEGAR.
Fill a dish wand with half white vinegar, and half liquid soap. Scrub away at the soap scum in your shower and watch it disappear before your eyes.
#3- REMOVE WATER STAINS WITH LEMON.
By using half a lemon and a bit of good ol’ elbow grease, you will be able to get rid of water stains in no time. The acid in the lemon helps break down the water but won’t damage your hands.
#4- FOR TRICKIER STAINS SOAK A DISHCLOTH IN WHITE VINEGAR.
If a lemon won’t cut it, you can wrap dish cloths soaked in distilled white vinegar around the affected area. Just leave to soak for around 30 mins and then use an old toothbrush to get rid of any other stains.
#5- STICK YOUR TOOTHBRUSH HOLDER IN THE DISHWASHER.
Make sure the holder is dishwasher safe and simply pop it in with the rest of your dishes. You’ll save time on scrubbing those toothpaste stains and the dishwasher will get all those hard-to-reach bits.
#6- USE VINEGAR TO CLEAN OUT YOUR TOILET.
Start by pouring vinegar into the toilet bowl, then, after transferring the vinegar into a spray can, spray on the toilet seat and wipe. Next, soak some toilet paper in the vinegar and stuff under the the rim of the toilet bowl. Let it sit for a couple of minutes whilst you pour vinegar into the bowl and clean with a toilet cleaner. Flush away the soaked toilet paper and scrub inside with a toothbrush. That toilet will be clean enough to eat off!
#7- USE AN OLD TOILET ROLL AND VACUUM TO CLEAN OUT YOUR DRYER.
Using tape, make a slit in a empty toilet roll and attach to your vacuum hose. This will allow you to clean out a potentially dangerous clogged dryer vent.
